The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine is Washington’s community-based medical school.
Named after Washington State University’s late president, Dr. Elson S. Floyd, the college was created to expand medical education and health care access in communities across the state.
We attract talented students from or with significant ties to Washington – both rural and urban – to train within their communities, increasing the likelihood they will remain there to practice medicine.
Accredited in October 2016, the college welcomed its inaugural class in August 2017.

The Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel (“CCRH”) is a wholly-owned enterprise of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, a federally-recognized sovereign Indian tribe.
In accordance with the Tribe’s law and policy and federal law, the CCRH exists “as a means of promoting tribal economic development, self-sufficiency, and [a] strong tribal government.” The CCRH provides revenue for tribal education, elder care, cultural awareness, health, welfare, tribal government programs and agencies, economic development and tribal self-sufficiency and general tribal sovereignty initiatives. The Coeur d’Alene Tribe operates the CCRH under a Class III Gaming Compact with the state of Idaho and the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988 (“IGRA”).

The Spokane Area Workforce Development Council is a business-led board that works to identify and fill gaps in our local workforce. We bring together businesses, government, labor, education, economic development, and community-based organizations to create a vibrant economy by preparing a skilled workforce to meet regional business needs. We have a budget of approximately $6 million per year, and we actively seek out additional grant funding for our region. We operate a service delivery system that consists of two career centers and 17 affiliated sites located across Spokane County.

Our American Job Center, WorkSource Spokane, provides job seekers with an array of career services that connect skill development and job placement to fuel business growth.We provide funding and oversight for the only youth career and employment center in the Spokane Area, the Next Generation Zone, which serves approximately 3,500 visitors each year. We offer exceptional services to area Businesses, including recruiting assistance, job postings, WorkKeys testing, employee training assistance, labor market information and more.We have a unique partnership with the Community Colleges of Spokane, allowing us to inform worker training programs to help ensure students are on track to graduate with the credentials needed for in-demand careers.
